Responding to a prompt from Visit Guyana:
In primary school (in Guyana), snack referred to food for lunchtime. My mother prepared my snack each day then packed the snack in my lunch kit (lunch box) for me to take to school. My snack was usually five-finger drink and coconut buns (not cross buns). I did not enjoy it. Now, snack is food I eat between meals or when I feel the need to augment a light meal. I like to snack on food such as pastries, salara, plantain chips, and cassava/potato ball. For some of these foods, the snack goes well with a bottle of "sweet drink" (soda) or a glass of homemade drink.
