What I'm currently working on 9.17.2026

I am working on several books to be published. One will provide more information about me and my high school experience. Another will include three poems on President's College. (See post on three items that say so much: https://fahmeenaodetta.blogspot.com/2026/08/three-items-to-say-so-much.html). There is also a book on luck. It will look into my weird coincidences. I like how the projects are coming along.

I have a reputation for having weird coincidences. See weird coincidences on this page.

Special poems highlighting wooden background

I am currently working on another book of poems on President's College. I also started a book on luck. There is a lot of work to do.

Included are three poems that highlight my wooden background. It sort of gives special meaning to "knock on wood" (https://www.rd.com/article/knock-on-wood-meaning/). The poems and book must be special.

My book is now available

My book is published! I wasn't certain about the availability date for a particular reason. I discovered that it is available on Amazon.com. Please support me. https://www.amazon.com/Growing-Up-Town-Linden-Fahmi/dp/1837948542

The book is a collection of poems I wrote during a difficult time. The poems provide insight into my life in Linden, Guyana, South America before President's College. It was an important time in my life.

Good morning from Linden, Guyana! I submitted a bunch of poems for publishing yesterday. I hope the publisher likes what I submitted (it is well received).

World Poetry Day

I learned a few minutes ago that it is World Poetry Day. The United Nations post I looked at (below) encouraged readers to share a poem that provided comfort in difficult times. I will say that:

People, things, places could provide comfort when needed

Comfort can come from surprising places.

Some more poems...

Here are some more poems I "thought up" during the blackout.

I was writing poems since high school. I recall that I wanted quotes, poems, and other words of wisdom for my green folder book in high school. I wrote at least one poem that I added to the book. (Find more on the green folder book in this previous post: https://fahmeenaodetta.blogspot.com/2023/08/labels.html)

Book

Thank you for the likes to my Poems post. As I mentioned in one of the videos, I am working on a book of poems. The goal is to write/create an award-winning book (not self-published)!

Work on Poems

Some of the work I completed during the internet blackout (shown below). I used an idea in this previous post in a poem on Guyanese pastries: fahmeenaodetta.blogspot.com/2023/09/guyanese-pastries.html.

Acquired Taste

Good morning from Linden, Guyana! I got up early this morning.

In my voice update on poems I was working on, I mentioned that the five-finger (carambola) tree in the backyard of my childhood home produced a lot of the fruit. Because of that tree, I took five-finger drink to school just about every day. Although that drink was all around, I never really acquired a taste for it.

I acquired a taste for other things such as Malta (drink), butter pecan ice cream, and cottage cheese. I ate/drank so much of the food/drink that I grew to like it. I have a Pinterest board named 'Acquired Taste' (https://www.pinterest.com/fahmeenaodetta/acquired-taste/).

(This reminds me of impromptu speaking at Toastmasters. The last Toastmasters club I was a member of was the club at Fannie Mae - a previous employer. I liked that club. Come to think of it, I also created my main email address - moorefo1@gmail.com  - when I was at the company. Back then, a gmail account could only be created if someone sent you an invitation. It was a good experience but I probably won't work at that organization again.

One of my previous posts on the experience at Fannie Mae (used for research): https://fahmeenaodetta.blogspot.com/2024/01/paper-i-submitted-for-publishing.html.)
